Since the acquisition of the abandoned Elk Grove Promenade project by the Howard Houghs Corporation, the company has made known their desire to create an outlet mall at the property. At roughly half the size of the original project, the outlet mall would still be a massive project and a nice improvement to the Elk Grove real estate landscape. Elk Grove consumers have historically had to head to Sacramento for their more upscale shopping needs, but that could be over with the completion of the proposed upscale outlet mall. A project like this could dramatically improve the saleability of Elk Grove homes and condominiums.
The Howard Houghs Corporate website has some of the project details. Area businesses moved to the area around the Promenade in hopes of garnering business from increased traffic. Along with Elk Grove home owners these businesses stand to be some of the biggest gainers in a proposal like this. For many in Elk Grove any completed project is better than the half built abandoned project that is currently wasting space there. In my opinion this project if completed will certainly be a boon to other business in the area and raise the value of homes in the Elk Grove real estate market.
